Sony WF-1000XM6: the $499.95 flagship earbuds
Sony’s 2026 flagship true-wireless earbuds have landed in Australia at $499.95 RRP. The WF-1000XM6 packs the new QN3e processor, LDAC support, LE Audio with Auracast, and around 8 hours of battery with ANC on.
What’s new
The QN3e chip is the headline — Sony’s latest noise-cancelling processor. Add LE Audio and Auracast support, and these are aimed squarely at AirPods Pro 3 buyers who want the best Android-compatible buds.
Sony WF-1000XM6 Australia price and availability
RRP is $499.95, available now in Black and Platinum Silver. Street prices are already dipping to $399–$449 at some retailers.
Our verdict
Too early to tell — we haven’t tested them. On paper, the specs are strong for the price. If the ANC lives up to Sony’s claims, these are the buds to beat in 2026.
