De’Longhi PrimaDonna Aromatic Australia: $1,999 Price, Worth It?

Kitchen & Cooking Published 8 October 2026 Updated 8 October 2026

Quick verdict

The De’Longhi PrimaDonna Aromatic is the most ambitious bean-to-cup machine De’Longhi has ever sold in Australia: a 5-inch touchscreen, Bean Adapt tech that tunes grind and dose to whatever beans you load, three brew methods including cold brew, and milk carafes for both hot and cold foam. It is now $1,999 at Harvey Norman — down from $2,159 — which puts it at roughly half the price of its natural rival, the $3,990 Jura J10. Our take: if you want a one-machine-does-everything coffee setup without paying Jura money, this is the strongest argument on the market right now.

De’Longhi PrimaDonna Aromatic Australian price and where to buy

Here’s the price picture (checked 8 October 2026):

$1,999 — Harvey Norman (verified today; listed as in stock — the cheapest we’ve seen it in Australia).

$2,159 — The Good Guys (in stock).

$2,249 — De’Longhi Australia (official store, in stock).

Prices from Harvey Norman, The Good Guys and De’Longhi Australia. CHOICE has also recorded it at $2,094 in its lab testing.

At $1,999 it’s $250 under De’Longhi’s own store price — and it was $2,159 across major retailers only yesterday, so the price is moving fast.

Release date and availability

The PrimaDonna Aromatic (model ECAM63075TM) launched in the UK in April 2025 at £1,549.99, then rolled out globally — it sells for US$2,499.95 in America and $2,999.99 CAD in Canada. It is stocked now in Australia through Harvey Norman, The Good Guys and De’Longhi’s own store, so there’s no preorder wait or grey-import risk. It picked up a 2025 Red Dot Design Award and a 2025 iF Design Award along the way.

What it is and key features

The headline feature is Bean Adapt Technology: it senses the beans you’ve loaded and automatically adjusts grind, dose and temperature to suit, with Adaptive Grinding to take the dial-in guesswork out of switching between blends. You can move from a dark Italian roast to a fruity Ethiopian single origin without touching a setting.

Three brewing methods. The Aromatic runs three dedicated extraction paths — espresso, drip-style coffee, and a cold brew cycle that completes in under three minutes, no overnight steeping.

LatteCrema Hot and Cool. Two carafes come in the box — one for hot microfoam, one for cold foam, each with three texture levels — handling dairy and plant-based milks. They’re dishwasher-safe and the machine runs automatic wash cycles.

37 recipes, 5-inch screen, 4 profiles. The full-colour touchscreen is genuinely large at 5 inches and serves up guided tips as you brew. Four user profiles store personalised drinks, and the My Coffee Lounge app (with Coffee Moments) lets you customise recipes and brew remotely over Wi-Fi.

The numbers: 19-bar pump, 2.2L water tank, 500g bean hopper, 1450W, 13kg, and a 26.2 × 40.7 × 46.3cm footprint. CHOICE’s lab confirmed 5 strength settings plus Bean Adapt mode, 3 water temperatures, and 42-second frothing readiness.

PrimaDonna Aromatic vs Jura J10: the head-to-head

This is the comparison that matters, because both machines chase the same buyer: someone who wants hot espresso drinks and cold coffee from one machine, and is willing to pay flagship money. The Jura J10 sells in Australia at an RRP of $3,990 (street price around $3,499). The PrimaDonna Aromatic is now $1,999 — roughly half.

Drinks and cold coffee. The J10 offers 42 specialities, cold brew in under a minute via its Cold Extraction Process, syrup-infused Sweet Foam, and a Hot Milk function. The Aromatic counters with 37 recipes, its own cold brew cycle, and Hot plus Cool carafes built in — but no syrup-infused foam, which is the one trick De’Longhi can’t match.

Grinding. Bean Adapt auto-tunes grind, dose and temperature for whatever beans you load — the closest thing to a set-and-forget grinder in this class. Jura’s Professional Aroma Grinder (P.A.G.2+) monitors and adjusts grind consistency in real time. Different philosophies, same goal; neither requires you to dial in by hand.

Screen and smarts. De’Longhi’s 5-inch screen beats Jura’s 4.3-inch display, and both offer app control. Jura adds Coffee Eye cup detection; De’Longhi adds six bean profiles on top of four user profiles.

Independent verdicts. CHOICE gave the J10 a 77% expert rating, praising its milk frothing and programmability. TechRadar’s tester called the Aromatic one of the best espresso machines they’d ever used (value 4/5), and Popular Science praised the bean-sensing automation as the reason to buy.

The money question. The J10 is the more polished luxury object with the better independent lab score we can quote — but it’s double the money. At $1,999 vs $3,990, the PrimaDonna Aromatic gives you ~90% of the capability for ~50% of the price. Unless syrup-infused foam or Swiss build cachet is worth $2,000 to you, the De’Longhi wins the value argument outright.

How it compares to other options

vs Breville the Oracle Dual Boiler (~$4,499). Breville’s flagship is a different beast — a semi-automatic with a proper portafilter for people who want to dial in by hand. Read our Oracle Dual Boiler verdict here. If automation is the point, the PrimaDonna wins; if control is the point, it’s the Breville.

vs De’Longhi Magnifica Duo. De’Longhi’s own cheaper bean-to-cup option covers the basics for far less money — see our Magnifica Duo coverage. The Aromatic justifies its premium with the cold brew path, the Cool milk carafe, Bean Adapt and the big screen. If you never drink iced coffee, the Duo is the smarter buy.

vs Ninja Luxe Café Premier ($609 street). The Ninja Luxe Café Premier is the budget bean-to-cup pick — a simpler 3-in-1 with no cold brew, no bean-sensing tech and no app. Different league, different buyer.

Worth it? Our verdict

At $1,999, the PrimaDonna Aromatic is the easiest flagship bean-to-cup recommendation in Australia right now — provided you actually want what it’s selling. That means: multiple coffee drinkers in the house, a mix of hot and iced drinks, and beans that change often enough for Bean Adapt to earn its keep. TechRadar’s reviewer made the same point — you need a household of coffee lovers with varied tastes to get the most out of it.

Honest caveats: it’s big (46cm deep, 13kg — measure your bench), the automation will frustrate dial-in purists, and cold foam works best with skimmed dairy or plant milk.

Verdict: the $1,999 price turns De’Longhi’s most ambitious machine from a luxury into a genuine Jura J10 alternative at half the money. For hot-and-cold variety with zero barista skills required, it’s worth it.

Frequently asked questions

How much is the De’Longhi PrimaDonna Aromatic in Australia?

The cheapest price we’ve found is $1,999 at Harvey Norman (in stock, checked 8 October 2026). The Good Guys has it at $2,159 and De’Longhi’s own Australian store at $2,249. CHOICE recorded it at $2,094 in its testing.

Is the PrimaDonna Aromatic better than the Jura J10?

The Jura J10 has the edge on paper — 42 drinks, syrup-infused Sweet Foam, a 77% CHOICE expert rating — but it costs $3,990 vs the De’Longhi’s $1,999. For hot and cold drinks with automatic bean tuning, the PrimaDonna Aromatic delivers most of the experience at half the price, which makes it the better buy for most households.

Can the PrimaDonna Aromatic make cold brew and iced coffee?

Yes — it has a dedicated cold brew extraction path that completes in under three minutes, plus a LatteCrema Cool carafe for cold milk foam. De’Longhi recommends skimmed dairy or plant milk for the best cold foam results.

What is Bean Adapt Technology?

Bean Adapt senses the beans loaded in the hopper and automatically adjusts grind size, dose and brewing temperature to suit them, so switching between blends doesn’t require manual dialling-in. It’s the PrimaDonna Aromatic’s headline feature and what separates it from cheaper bean-to-cup machines.

How big is the PrimaDonna Aromatic?

It measures 26.2 × 40.7 × 46.3cm and weighs 13kg, so it needs serious bench space — roughly the footprint of a microwave. Factor in clearance for the 2.2L water tank and 500g bean hopper on top before you buy.
