Not in Australia yet – here is the launch watch

The DeLonghi Magnifica Duo is not launched in Australia. Globally it sells for US$999.95 in the US, 699.99 pounds in the UK and $1,299.99 CAD in Canada. TechRadar estimates “about AU$1,350”. That is their conversion estimate, not an Australian RRP. There is no confirmed AU launch date.

This is a launch-watch briefing, not a review. We are tracking the Duo because it is the most interesting new bean-to-cup machine of 2026, and Australian coffee lovers deserve to know what is coming, when it might land, and whether it is worth waiting for. Spoiler: for most people, it is not worth the wait.

What it is: hot and iced from one machine

The Magnifica Duo (model ECAM33080SXB) is the newest branch of the Magnifica family. It is a fully automatic bean-to-cup machine that does hot AND iced drinks. The headline is LatteCrema Hot and Cool: two dedicated milk carafes, one for hot foam and one for cold, with no rinsing between them. Switch from a flat white to an iced latte without stopping to clean.

It offers 20 preset recipes including cold brew via a dedicated low-pressure cold extraction, a “3-minute cold brew”. There is a 13-setting conical burr grinder, 3 user profiles, a 2.4-inch colour display and a 1.8L water tank. It was announced on 22 July 2026 and is on sale in the US and Canada now.

Duo vs Magnifica Plus vs Evo Next

Against the Magnifica Plus (ECAM320), which carries an AU RRP of $1,299 (per CHOICE) with street prices of $898 to $1,042, the Duo differentiator is the dual carafe system. The Plus has only one milk system. If you drink both hot and iced milk drinks, that is the entire argument for the Duo.

Against the Magnifica Evo Next, which lists at $1,149 in Australia (per TechRadar) and sells for AU$979 at The Good Guys right now, the comparison is tighter. The Evo Next has LatteCrema Hot only and 13 drinks. The Duo adds cold extraction, a cold-foam carafe and 20 presets. The UK pricing tells the story: Duo at 699.99 pounds vs Evo Next at 499.99 pounds, a 40% premium. That is a useful signal for AU expectations. If the Duo lands here, expect it to sit well above the Evo Next street price.

Should you wait or buy the Evo Next?

The Evo Next at AU$979 is the smart play right now. The Duo is not on sale in Australia, has no launch date, and its likely positioning around AU$1,350 is a big premium for cold-drink capability. Do the cold-coffee value math: the price gap between the Evo Next street price and the Duo expected price buys a lot of cafe cold brews.

Unless you are specifically committed to waiting for dual-carafe convenience, buy the Evo Next. It is available now, it is proven, and at AU$979 it is the value pick in the Magnifica range. If the Duo eventually lands in Australia, reassess then. But do not put your coffee on hold for a rumoured launch.

Frequently asked questions

When is the Magnifica Duo coming to Australia?

Unknown. It has not launched here and there is no confirmed AU date. It is on sale in the US and Canada now after a 22 July 2026 announcement. We are tracking it.

How much will it cost in Australia?

There is no AU RRP. TechRadar estimates “about AU$1,350” (a conversion estimate, not a price). For context, it sells for US$999.95, 699.99 pounds and $1,299.99 CAD globally.

Should I buy the Evo Next instead?

At AU$979 at The Good Guys, yes. It is the value pick. The Duo dual carafes and cold extraction are nice, but not worth an indefinite wait at an expected 40% premium.
