Deebot X12S Australia: $2,999 Flagship, Worth It?

Reviews Published 8 October 2026 Updated 8 October 2026

Quick verdict

The Ecovacs Deebot X12S OmniCyclone is the new flagship robot vacuum in Australia — $2,999, on sale since 17 September. It pairs 27,000Pa suction with a self-washing roller mop, a bagless auto-empty station and a certified anti-mite carpet chamber. Our first look: at the same $2,999 as the X11, the X12S is simply the better machine — stronger suction, a longer mop roller and smarter stain treatment. Buy the X12S; only look at the X11 if it gets discounted.

Deebot X12S Australian price and where to buy

The Deebot X12S OmniCyclone carries an RRP of $2,999 in Australia. Right now it’s sitting at full price everywhere:

At Ecovacs Australia it’s $2,999 and in stock. JB Hi-Fi lists it at $2,999, in stock. The Good Guys also has it at $2,999, in stock. Prices checked 8 October 2026.

No discounts yet — it’s only been on sale for three weeks. Ecovacs flagships do get discounted over time though (the X11 is already the older model at the same price), so if you’re not in a hurry, it’s worth watching for the first sale.

Release date and availability

The X12S OmniCyclone was unveiled at IFA 2026 in Berlin and went on sale in Australia on 17 September 2026. It’s the latest flagship in the Deebot range, sitting above the X11 OmniCyclone — which, slightly confusingly, only hit Australian shelves on 30 September, about two weeks after the X12S.

What it is and key features

The X12S is Ecovacs’ top-end robot vacuum and mop combo. Instead of chasing the biggest suction number on the spec sheet, Ecovacs has focused on its BLAST suction design (Boosted Large-Airflow Suction Technology) — a bigger air inlet and fan blades that the company says make vacuuming more effective than raw Pascals alone. Confirmed features:

27,000Pa BLAST suction, 53 air watts. Ecovacs says that’s 60% more suction power than the previous-generation X12. It’s less than some rivals’ headline numbers, but Ecovacs’ argument is that airflow design matters more than the Pa figure.

OZMO Roller 3.0 mopping. The centrepiece: a 27cm mop roller — 50% longer than the previous generation — pressing down with 4,000Pa of force and scrubbing at 220 RPM. It self-washes with pressurised water while it cleans, so the contact surface stays cleaner through the cycle, and a new FocusJet spray pre-dissolves dried-on stains (Ecovacs names dried soy sauce and coffee) before the roller passes over.

Carpet-safe roller lift. When the robot hits carpet, the mop roller lifts 15mm and a smart cover descends to seal the gap — no wet roller touching your carpet fibres.

Anti-mite chamber. A sealed carpet chamber designed to push into pile rather than skim across it. SGS-certified testing measured 95.45% dust-mite removal on Wilton carpet (under specific lab conditions — real homes will vary).

ZeroTangle 4.0 + TruEdge 3.0. Airflow-directed anti-tangle brush design with thickened rubber strips for pet and long hair, plus improved edge cleaning along skirting boards.

AIVI 3D 4.0 + AGENT YIKO 3.0. AI obstacle recognition and a voice assistant that handles autonomous planning, adaptive scheduling and hands-free control.

PowerBoost Charging Plus. Tops up 13% of battery in 3 minutes during mop-washing breaks, cutting downtime in large homes.

OmniCyclone station. PureCyclone 2.0 bagless auto-empty (Ecovacs says up to 48 days without emptying the dustbin), hot-water mop washing (heating module up to 100°C), high-pressure tray rinsing, hot-air drying of the air duct and dustbin, plus automatic clean-water refills and detergent dosing. Ecovacs reckons the mop tray needs attention roughly every 150 days.

It’s also slim (98mm) for getting under furniture and can cross 2.5cm thresholds.

Deebot X12S vs X11: what’s actually new?

This is the question no AU site is answering properly, so here’s the straight comparison:

Price: identical. Both the X12S and the X11 OmniCyclone are $2,999 RRP in Australia, and both are currently in stock at The Good Guys at that price. There is no premium for the newer model.

Suction: 27,000Pa on the X12S vs 19,500Pa on the X11.

Mopping: OZMO Roller 3.0 on the X12S (27cm roller, 4,000Pa downforce, 220 RPM, FocusJet stain spray) vs Roller 2.0 on the X11. The X12S also adds the carpet-safe roller cover.

New on the X12S: the anti-mite chamber, ZeroTangle 4.0, TruEdge 3.0, AIVI 3D 4.0 and AGENT YIKO 3.0 — the X11 runs the previous generations of these systems.

Same on both: the bagless OmniCyclone station concept, PowerBoost fast charging and the overall design language.

The bottom line: at equal money, the X12S wins on every meaningful spec. The X11 only makes sense if retailers start discounting it — which, as the superseded model, is likely just a matter of time. Don’t pay $2,999 for the X11 when the X12S costs the same.

How it compares to rivals

vs Roborock Saros 20 ($2,999). Same RRP, and this is the real fight at the top of the market. The Saros 20 edges the X12S on paper suction, but it uses spinning mop pads while the X12S uses a self-washing roller — and CyberShack’s Australian review found roller models mop noticeably better in practice. If mopping matters to you, the X12S has the stronger system.

vs Dreame X50 Ultra (RRP $2,999, now ~$1,279–$1,479 on deal). Last year’s Dreame flagship is now selling for less than half the X12S’s price. You give up the newest roller tech and the anti-mite chamber, but you keep $1,500+ in your pocket. For pure value, the discounted X50 is hard to argue against.

vs Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai ($1,899 street). Dyson’s first wet-and-dry robot undercuts the X12S by $1,100, but CHOICE’s lab tests found it terrible on carpet with underwhelming mopping. The X12S is the more complete machine — you just pay flagship money for it. Read our Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai verdict here.

Worth it? Our first-look verdict

Here’s the honest take. CyberShack’s Australian review called the X12S “one of the best robovacs around” and said they’d buy it with their own money “without hesitation” — strong words from reviewers who test everything. The roller mop system is genuinely the best approach to robot mopping right now, the station is about as hands-off as it gets, and at $2,999 it costs no more than the X11 it replaces.

The caveats: 27,000Pa trails some rivals’ headline suction figures (Ecovacs says the airflow design compensates — we’d like to see independent lab tests confirm it), and there’s no CHOICE lab verdict yet. And $2,999 is full flagship money for a product that’s three weeks old; Ecovacs flagships historically get discounted, so patient buyers will likely be rewarded.

First-look verdict: the best roller-mop robot vacuum you can buy in Australia right now. Buy it if you want the top of the market today; wait for the first sale if you can. And whatever you do, don’t pay $2,999 for the older X11.

Frequently asked questions

How much is the Ecovacs Deebot X12S in Australia?

The RRP is $2,999. It’s currently in stock at that price at Ecovacs Australia, JB Hi-Fi and The Good Guys. Prices checked 8 October 2026 — no discounts yet.

When did the Deebot X12S launch in Australia?

It went on sale in Australia on 17 September 2026, after being unveiled at IFA 2026 in Berlin. It’s Ecovacs’ latest flagship, sitting above the X11 OmniCyclone.

What’s the difference between the Deebot X12S and the X11?

Both are $2,999 RRP, but the X12S has stronger suction (27,000Pa vs 19,500Pa), the newer OZMO Roller 3.0 mop with FocusJet stain spray, and a new anti-mite carpet chamber. At equal money, the X12S is the better buy — the X11 only makes sense if it gets discounted.

Is the Deebot X12S good for pet hair?

It’s designed for it: ZeroTangle 4.0 anti-tangle brush design, thickened rubber brush strips and 27,000Pa suction. Ecovacs specifically targets pet-hair households with this model, though independent long-term pet-hair tests aren’t published yet.

Does the Deebot X12S need dust bags?

No. The OmniCyclone station uses PureCyclone 2.0 bagless auto-emptying, and Ecovacs says you can go up to 48 days without emptying the dustbin. That keeps ongoing costs down versus bagged rivals.
